Not Insanely Great...

Steve Jobs was able to control Apple in such a way that his vision of how things need to work actually made it into the products. As a consumer, I felt that he was emotionally connected to the way that the things that Apple produced worked, and that emotional commitment transferred to me. I do not feel that anyone is committed that way to Apple any more. Here are some examples of things that just don't work the right way, but someone had to make a conscious choice to make them not work the right way.

Playlists: If I add a song to a playlist on my phone, sync it to my Mac, I now get "Playlist 1". What?! That is just terrible. Who decided that this is the way that I want playlists to work? There is a "sync" button that is short for "synchronize" which is a misnomer, because that's not what it's doing. Please. Synchronize my playlists.

"Relocated Items" folder on the desktop. Please. No. Stop. Don't do that. Why are you placing another decision that I have to make onto my frontal lobe? If you don't understand why this is so upsetting, then Apple, you don't understand me anymore.

Butterfly Keyboard Problems - There were a few keys not working, so I decided to take the MacBook Pro into the genius bar, and they claimed to have fixed it. The keys that were not working before were working most of the time now, but not completely. Then, other keys began to have problems. So now, my up arrow key does not work, and various other keys are not working. The problem was not fixed, and I never got the sense that Apple was sorry for inconveniencing me to have to be without my MBP for a couple days. They gave me a loaner, but they need a process for quickly transferring all my data to the loaner right there, so that I can actually...use it?! Yeah, not the way things are supposed to work.

"Trending" within the Music App. Stop. I don't care what is trending when I am searching for something. What is your motivation for putting this here? When you direct my attention to popular things, I begin to wonder whether or not you are looking out for my best interest, or just trying to make more money. Prove that this isn't so. Generally, I accept the new adapter costs as technology changes...but things like "trending" distractions start to make me less accepting.

I hope someone at Apple with the ability to change something actually listens...
